"Point Pleasant," is a new series made a former executive producer of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Marti Noxon.

The show is essentially a teen thriller with a supernatural twist. Noxon was an executive producer and writer on both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spin-off series "Angel".

The cast is of course a number of highly attractive young adults involved in a number of encounters with elements of the supernatural.

In the first episode, a storm washes a comely young woman ashore in the sleepy New Jersey beach town of Point Pleasant.. Turns out Christina Nickson (Elisabeth Harnois) is the spawn of Satan. Her father was the devil, her mom was a nice Jersey woman who sang in the church choir.

Christina possesses the good heart of a mortal woman but is also possessed by the dark side of the family.  Similar to the existensial dilemma faced by "Angel" whilst in the Buffy series - what should be a  fundamentally evil being, having a heart of gold.  Christina has powers for evil that she is just beginning to recognize but is initially concerned with finding her mother.  Meanwhile, some sinister middle-aged men observe her actions from a distance and seek to destroy her before her true identity gets out.

Christina is super powerful and drop dead georgeous, similar to Buffy herself.  Potentially she might be the proverbial root of all evil - as the show progresses we are sure to see her battle her conscience as well as some of the suspect elements around Point Pleasant.

The show is on Fox and starts this week.
